With an ambience of fake wood-grain paneling and re-padded chairs, this seven table hole in the wall restaurant in old town serves up cheap fast good tasting Teriyaki six days a week since 2002. Take out is the name of the game at Hanna Teriyaki, with an average time of ten minutes from call to pickup, you can call in your order from work or home and by the time you drive there, it is ready. Regulars, who used to include most of the Georgia Pacific lunch crowd, are greeted by name.
If you decided to dine in, you can choose off the lighted photos of the menu hanging on the wall, before ordering at the counter. The water and tea are free and self service, make sure to bus your own table, and feel free to read the local newspapers that are dropped off weekly. The paneling is decorated with Japanese décor ala paper hats and Japanese prints and the restaurant is well lit and bright.
When teriyaki is in the name, teriyaki is what you should order. They also serve Yakisoba, (fry ramen noodle dish), sushi (California rolls only), Gyoza (pot stickers) and egg rolls. The lunch prices are inexpensive and the parking in back is free. You will find the lunch crowd a mixture of fishermen from the port and office workers who want something fast and don’t want to park in downtown. Hanna Teriyaki exemplifies Old Town: slightly seedy, small town friendly, and always good.
