Perched on a hill in downtown Blaine, WA the large wraparound porch of the Blackberry house has a commanding view of downtown. Patrons can enjoy a nice ocean breeze on the deck while sipping their chilled espresso frazes (their version of a blended ice drink) and homemade baked goods. Or, a cold day the warm comforts of the interior of this turn of century house offer ample room to enjoy a hot cappuccino. The interior has several spaces to sit and read and is painted with warm earth tones, rustic wood floors, and is immaculate clean. Decorated with a tasteful nautical theme, local pictures hang on the walls and a community bulletin board display flyers from the area. Quiet relaxing music plays over the overhead speakers and there is free Wi-Fi access for the wired crowd.

The Blackberry house has all the comforts of a coffee house, however they also serve homemade baked goods, breakfast, and for lunch soups and sandwiches. The back goods include an awesome warmed homemade cinnamon rolls, blackberry cobbler, muffins and black berry coffee cake. The lunch menu consists of turkey, Italian, roast beef, BLT, egg salad sandwiches. However, they also have wraps, including chicken salad wrap and a black bean chipotle wrap. It is obvious that the proprietor takes pride in what he serves, and has developed recipes that are both tasteful and thoughtful match to the environment of the café. For breakfast they serve bagels, quiche, and oatmeal. Locals abound and regular customers walk in to be greeted by name.
