In downtown Blaine, overlooking the harbor, Paso Del Norte offers a little something for everyone. They have a banquet area for big parties, a dark bar with a pool table, a sunlight-filled dining room with views of the Harbor, outdoor seating along the sidewalk and even home delivery. Serving a large variety of Mexican food, wine, beer and a full bar, they have an economical lunch menu and large dinner portions. Paso Del Norte is a perfect place for a one-margarita lunch with friends or a large wedding reception.
This large restaurant has tiled flooring and terracotta walls with murals of life in Mexico and stained wooden booths and large tables. There are decorative brick arches, the occasional sombrero on the wall and plastic house plants added for a touch of the quintessential Americanized Mexican ambiance. On a hot day, the Air Conditioning is going or alfresco and enjoy the sea breeze.
The menu is extensive: combination meals, small combination plates, and large combination plates in seafood, Pollo (chicken), Carne (steak), along with salads, soups, burritos, fajita platters, and children’s dishes. They even have a selection of American dishes like Hamburgers. Their chips and salsa is made fresh daily, their guacamole is made from scratch using whole ripe avocados. Besides the traditional dishes, they have specialty house burritos, including Chuck’s Burrito, and the Express Burrito.
On Peace Portal just south of where H St. comes in.
