The Seaside Bakery Café is a bright, small local bakery next to the harbor that is serious about the quality of their food. They have an open kitchen that is bigger than the dining area, making this café always seem packed. The regulars, including customs agents, and old salts, and boat mechanics from the harbor, know the Seaside for their inexpensive breakfast items. The menu consists of all homemade items including: fresh baked bread made daily that you can take with you, cinnamon rolls, slices of pie, and soups.
This small cozy café brightens your dining with yellow walls and full bay windows facing Peace Portal Way. A seascape mural brightens one wall, and on the opposite side is local art prints for sale. Small mismatched tables and a pot belly stove finish off the dining room. The small ordering counter is wedge between two display cases of pies, cookies, muffins, and assorted bakery items. You order at the counter, and it is brought out to you, parties of up to four can sit comfortably at the tables.
Hanging above the counter is a huge whiteboard of menus items, choosing just one thing to eat is much harder than finding something you like. All the food is home-style cooking, and they are known for their cheap breakfasts including pancakes, waffles, and scrambled eggs. They serve a full range of espresso coffee, which is perfect coupled with a slice of their homemade pie. For lunch you can order a variety of sandwiches including: Tuna Melt, BLT, one of their Famous Rubens, or an Italian sausage sandwich.
