Review

Given Fairhaven’s brick buildings circa the late 1800s, it’s hard to imagine a brand new hotel fitting into this historic neighborhood. But the Fairhaven Village Inn, which opened in 1999, does so very well and even seems to complement its surroundings. The charm of Inn comes from its combination of old-fashioned style with ritzy modern amenities. You get the big contoured bathtub, scented lotion and grapefruit soaps, all the cable channels you could want, gas fireplace and plush bathrobes in the closet. But you also get Victorian era furnishings, antiques, and big cushy chairs.

That the Village Inn is located in Fairhaven is reason enough to spend a night or two at the new hotel. Fairhaven has a weekly Farmers Market right across the street from the hotel. Nearby are shops and restaurants, access to the waterfront, bay views, and in summers, outdoor movies, also across the street. A few blocks west is the Amtrak train station, making a stay at the Village Inn an easy car-less weekend getaway from Seattle.

The Fairhaven Village Inn has made an effort to accommodate different kinds of guests, including the little ones that some hotels shun. Children under 12 stay free. The Inn also allows guests with small pets, for an additional $20 per day. Rooms are large and could easily be used for the business traveler, with a nice writing desk and computer outlet. The "Fairhaven Room," which holds 25, can be reserved for conferences. A continental breakfast that includes local Tony’s Coffee and fresh fruit is also included in the room price. If you have time, consider taking the worthwhile Fairhaven Historical Walking Tour. Brochures are available in the lobby.

I have just returned to NYC from my third visit to Fairhaven and stay at the Fairhaven Village Inn. I continue to be overjoyed with my stays at this hotel. The new breakfast room with an expanded continental breakfast and complimentary high speed internet are nice improvements made by the hotel's owners, Conni & Gene Shannon.

The new soft goods (bedspreads and linens) are very nice and the oversized rooms are exceptionally comfortable.

The hotel's location is ideal. Just park the car and walk to all the shops, restaurants and bars. And all are within blocks of the Fairhaven Village Inn.

Our stay at the Fairhaven was excellant!
We were made to feel very welcome, almost like part of the family. My daughter lives near by, and I plan to stay at the Fairhaven each time I visit.
Thanks!

We just returned from our stay of 8/25 - 8/29 and I must extend my sincere compliments to Conni & Gene. What a beautiful property! The lobby, the location, the rooms, the furnishings, and your very fine staff are all the premium choice.
The rooms were especially comfortable for the business traveller or for pleasure--quite spacious.
It was so nice to be able to simply walk about to go out for a bite to eat or for a coffee or to shop.
We'll be back, for sure, as we drop in to check on our new condo! We'll soon be neighbors!! See you soon...
