Review

The first time I visited Supon’s it felt familiar. I spent my first 15 minutes in the place trying to figure out why, when suddenly I realized that I was feeling nostalgic. Maybe it’s the fact that Supon’s is housed in what looks to be an old drive-in burger joint, kitty-corner from the Bellingham Public Schools building, maybe it’s the young (though extremely pleasant and capable) staff that helps run the place, or maybe it’s the menu filled with tried-and-true Thai dishes. The fact remains that Supon’s reminds me of the sort of eateries I frequented while I was in college.

Being constantly short on cash in college meant that, when I did have a few dollars to eat out, the goal was to find the best food in town for the least money. Supon’s prices are very reasonable, and the food that comes out of the kitchen is consistently flavorful and carefully prepared -- probably because Supon herself is in charge of the kitchen. Like most Thai food restaurants, dishes can be made as spicy or as mild as the customer wishes. Unlike many Thai food restaurants, if you order your Panang Chicken or Phad Thai zero to one star on the spiciness scale, you won’t be served a meal devoid of any flavor at all.

Supon’s isn’t a special-occasion place (unless your budget is like mine was in college). It’s an anytime, let’s-have-Thai-tonight, neighborhood place. If you really aren’t in the mood to sit in a place that reminds you of your college days, then order take-out. Supon’s food is worth a try.

Period. I've had all the Thai food bellingham has to offer and Supons os hands down the best. It may look unassuming but don't let that sway you from walking in the door. The service is ALWAYS friendly and the food is authentic and top-notch. I'll admit we don't eat in the dining area much, mostly just take out but it's the best you will have.

I love Supon's food. It is my favorite Thai food restaurant period. But I have to agree that the wait staff they hire has a tendency to be rude and unknowedgable. Try the Black Bean Broccoli dish - you won't be disappointed!

Great food, reasonable prices, uneven service. The wait staff does have a tendency to come across as stressed, and the service can be unpredictable. Still, the great food makes the occasional grimace or long wait worth it.

Supon's has awesome food! However, every time I go to have a sit down dinner there (3 times) the waitress has been horrible. I have had both of the regular waitresses too. They are rude and too stressed. Once we got a new waiter who was obviously working hard and trying his best. The experienced/regular waitress kept getting on him and yelling at him. Needless to say we ended up giving the new guy a big tip and said, don't share this with the other waitress.
