Description:
Situated on Railroad Avenue, only blocks away from the water, the Boundary Bay Brewery provides a unique atmosphere for meeting friends and having dinner. Unlike some watering holes in town, Boundary Bay has a bright atmosphere and immediate personality. The high, white vaulted ceiling, adorned with large boat sails, makes the already spacious bar area look even larger. The soft sound of jazz that aerates from the rectangle ceiling-mounted speakers mingles with the conversation and laughter of beer drinkers and diners alike. The dark, hardwood floors contrast with glossy wooden table tops that are sprinkled throughout the lounge. Soft, white Christmas lights hang from bare branches of wiry plants that peer out from the corners of the room. Boundary Bay's wooden architecture is matched in prominence only by its prevailing nautical theme. A series of colorful, massive paintings hang from the white-washed walls.

The Boundary Bay Brewery boasts a variety of beers and wine, including a series of ales crafted in-house. Boundary's Best Bitter, Scotch Ale and Amber are among their specialty selections. Boundary Bay received awards for their Best Bitter and Old Boulder brews at the Boulder, Colo. Great American Beer Festival in 1998.

Separate from the lounge is a restaurant area. Large table lamps illuminate the tables where diners order dishes like cedar plank salmon, seven chili ale-chiladas and the American staple: spaghetti and meatballs. Appetizers, sandwiches, pizzas and black bean humus are other popular dishes.

On occasion, Boundary Bay Brewery hosts live music and other events. On any given night, college students and young people mingle with the middle-aged professional type. Boundary Bay's smoke-free environment can be refreshing to those wishing to escape the sometimes lung punishing bar scene.

i can honestly say that boundary bay is my favorite resteraunt in the bellingham area. exelent food, increadable beer, great atmosphere. unfortunatly the only thing that seems lacking time and time again is a positive attitude from the waitresses. whenever i sit down i feel like they are waiting for me to leave. and this isnt due to my disposition because i am a very polite individual. but i can never seem to generate any enthusiasm or positive attitude from them. but all in all it is still a great place do dine for more than the beer.

This is the place I bring my grandparents when they visit Bellingham. The food is fantastic for vegetarians AND meat eaters. Plus, kids can go into the restaurant side. No need to get a sitter to try the awesome beers.
