The green naugahyde seats in their faux wood frames are a matter of pride, as well as the wood carvings that were designed by Duff Tweed, one of the original designers of Disneyland. The menu is consistent with the retro feel of the restaurant, consisting mainly of traditional American fare of the 40’s and 50’s diner. As an acknowledgement to the college crowd, veggie burgers and a few other hip items have been added to the menu. I found myself watching my P’s and Q’s with the waitress, who seemed more like a friend’s mother than a waitress -- another testament to the down-to-earth feel of the Horseshoe.

The Ranch Room, a separate part of the establishment where the hard liquor is served, is the main attraction at the Horseshoe on a Friday or Saturday night. The close quarters of The Ranch Room certainly make for an intimate get-to-know-your-neighbor atmosphere, if only out of sheer proximity. Because it is open all night, the Horseshoe also serves as a favorite place for the bar hopper’s end of the night meal. You would be hard pressed to find a more interesting place (besides St. Joseph’s Emergency Room) at 3 a.m. on a Friday.

This comment is regarding the recent barring of the much adored local band,"Torp Squad" from the ranch room. The owner statedin a press release that the lead singers antics were to extreme for an establishment like the ranch room which is a notorious spot for dope addicts, hookers, and various local violent degenerates. The lead singer couldnt be reached for comment by the local papers but rumors around the local hip underground scene are flying. Some say that the lead singer Gary may tone down his vioent half naked pelvic provoking stage shows in order to return, while others are saying that he intends to wage a personal war on the bar. whatever happends i feel that the torp squad need to be granted entry to preform before somthin bad happends. This is the place to go it you love smoking, they encourage it and it always stinks and the food smells like smoke also.

ive been up to bellingham over the spring and summers and fall and i always enjoyed the food at the horseshoe restrant, and the service was great! , iam hopeing to return this coming year either in the spring or summer , i also enjoy bellingham because its a very nice town and people are frieindly there

If the Little Cheerful is to full and you don't feel like waiting for the sixties generation to eat breakfast drop into the Horseshoe -- they have vege hash brown also!
