Description:
The Bellingham Theatre Guild is one of the few places to host community theater productions in the area. Therefore, the BTG is an important member of the diverse arts scene in Bellingham, having a rich, 70-year history of bringing theater to the residents of Whatcom County.

There is a lot more to theater than Shakespeare and the BTG proves it with a variety of productions. Recent offerings by the BTG include musicals, comedies, suspense and drama -- both contemporary and classic. The theater's goal is to provide quality productions at reasonable prices, and it certainly accomplishes this with impressive values and quality acting. For schedules and tickets, refer to the phone number to contact the box office; circulars are usually distributed prior to the opening of a new production. Besides the box office, tickets are available one hour before curtain.

The cast and crew of BTG's half-a-dozen performances per year are comprised mainly of volunteers from the community. A full-time technical director was recently added to the staff to insure consistent quality in the lighting and set design. The BTG traditionally hosts "cold readings" from the script for parts in plays. One of the shining stars to emerge from the BTG is Hillary Swank, star of the movies "Buffy, The Vampire Slayer" and "The Next Karate Kid" and was cast on Fox Network’s "Beverly Hills, 90210." For available parts and audition times, as well as additional requirements (singing or improvisational exercises), contact the BTG at 734-5503.

I am SO wishing that theatre companies here in Whatcom County would resurrect some of the old classics or family favorites...Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, A Little Princess, Little Women, and The Secret Garden would all be amazing shows to watch or be in. Maybe you might consider doing one of these...

It would be great to look here to find performances and times as well as audition times and requirements. Just a thought--if someone from the theatre would provide the info. ? Thanks--Kulshan.com is an awesome resource! KS
