Description:
You'll be hard pressed to find a better public golf course than Lake Padden Golf Course.

Nestled in a typical Whatcom County forest, Lake Padden features narrow, tree-lined fairways, a fair helping of sand traps and undulating terrain to challenge most golfers. Don't be surprised if you hear the occasional sound of golfers playing bank shots off of the trees or of some of the critters who share the course. Golfers may want to make sure they are warmed up before their round by hitting a bucket or two of balls at the driving range, to avoid playing in the trees. If you do happen to stray into the trees however, your best bet is to drop a new ball and move on as the undergrowth is thick.

The course is well-maintained and extremely picturesque with most fairways isolated from each other, giving you the feeling that you're alone on the course. There are few water hazards that cause any real trouble. The course can be walked fairly easily, even with the elevation changes, however, power carts are available for those who wish to ride.

Lake Padden is a popular full-service golf facility which also offers tournaments, leagues and lessons. The pro shop is packed full of merchandise for you to choose from and chances are that if they don't have what you're looking for, they can get it. Green fees are very reasonable, making the course perhaps the best value for the quality of play in the county. After your round, you may want to enjoy a burger or hot dog with a cold beverage of your choice in the restaurant.

Lake Padden Golf Course is a course that you'll definitely want to play if you've never played it, and if you have, you'll want to play it again and again.
