From I-5 take the Ferndale 262 exit. Head west across the Nooksack. the Pioneer will be on your left just past the light at First Avenue.
Description:
There is nightlife in Ferndale and the Pioneer Restaurant and Lounge has it all. Formerly known as Everybody's Restaurant and Lounge, the Pioneer is located in downtown Ferndale just minutes from I-5.
The pioneer is not your run-of-the-mill restaurant and lounge. With a full menu that features steak, seafood and burgers you can find something to satisfy everyone's taste at reasonable prices. The restaurant is a popular location for large groups and parties. Groups wanting to hold their event at the Pioneer should contact Nellie to reserve space. The staff at the Pioneer is very friendly and helpful. The clientele is also generally friendly, sometimes maybe even a little too friendly if that's possible. The restaurant has a small dance floor and the subdued lighting in the restaurant makes dancing less intimidating. Weekends feature the only live music in town. Because times and acts vary, you should call in advance to find out who is playing. There is good ventilation in the restaurant so non-smokers will probably not be bothered by smoke.
If dancing, live music and food is not what you're after, the Pioneer also features a full service bar, pull tabs, a game room with great pinball machines, pool and darts for your entertainment. Kids are welcome in the Pioneer until 9:00 p.m. after that, it's adults only. Parking on Main Street is limited, but there is additional parking available in a vacant lot on the corner of First Avenue and Main Street.
The Pioneer Restaurant and Lounge is your best choice for an evenings entertainment in Ferndale. The friendly staff, food and drink and variety of entertainment make this restaurant the place to be seen, or not seen.
